On Monday April 8, 2024 the Moon will cast its shadow across a small portion of the Earth's surface. Beaver River CSD, along with much of Northern NY, will have the unique opportunity to experience a total solar eclipse.

In Beaver Falls, the eclipse will begin at 2:10 PM and will end at 4:35 PM. The Eclipse  Information for Beaver Falls page provides detailed information about eclipse times, including the time and length of totality.

Eclipse FAQ covers many of the questions that are often asked about solar eclipses.

The Eclipse Safety page has information about ways to observe the eclipse and what to look for when purchasing solar eclipse glasses.

In-School Celebration

Beaver River CSD would like to celebrate this once in a lifetime event with both students and the community. On the morning of April 8th, students will spend time learning about various aspects of the eclipse. More information about this can be found here. To ensure all students and bus drivers are home before the start of the eclipse, students will be dismissed that day at 12:15 PM.

BRCS EclipseFest

At 1:30 PM, the school will shift gears and begin the EclipseFest event. This portion of the day will focus on offering students, families and all members of the community the opportunity to view and celebrate the eclipse. More information about EclipseFest can be found here
